Peter Maher

Peter was born in Twickenham, London.
Due to his Mother wanting him out of the house he obtained a job in publishing.
When the Art Director left Peter took on the role and in the course of this was sent to the London School of Printing one day a week to learn and hone his skills.
During and before this Peter had a passion for art, mainly at this time using oils.

His career path took him to many varied and interesting locations including the Far East where he had the wonderful and inspiring task of creating record covers......in Swahili!
A decision to move to Canada was taken and Peter moved, working for MacMillans for four years before setting up his own successful business in Graphics and Art Direction.
Peter continued to paint during this time and eventually moved to Clermont L'Herault where he now lives.
Peters medium of choice is now watercolours but he is not one to stay still.

A man with an abundance of ideas, thoughts and a keen eye (obviously garnered during his working life) mean that 10 minutes with this man is an hour with many others.
His ability to offer a little more (often quirky) to what he paints and what you see set him apart from others.
His recent works 'White Van' are a good example of this and will be exhibited in 2011 in association with L.A.

Peter is also one of the few artists in the region to embrace the internet. His blog www.petermaher.ca is a wonderful meandering ride through his week(s) and his articles on how he constructs a painting are a pleasure for artist and layman.
